Pillar 2

A portfolio built to do a job, not to chase a headline.

Your investments are there to fund your plan, so we build them that way: with discipline, careful research, and attention to where each asset is held for tax purposes.

What this pillar covers.

  • A snapshot of everything you own today, across every account, and what it’s costing you.
  • Portfolio construction that matches the risk you’re comfortable carrying and the income your plan needs.
  • Research-driven selection, drawing on institutional research.
  • Tax-aware account placement: which investments belong in taxable, tax-deferred, and Roth accounts.
  • Rebalancing twice a year, and whenever life changes in between.

Where it touches the other pillars.

Where an investment is held changes what you pay in taxes. How much risk you carry changes how much insurance you need. A portfolio that ignores the other four pillars can look great on paper and still fall short of the plan.

What the work looks like.

We never change a portfolio before you’ve seen the plan it serves. At the findings meeting, we’ll show you the strategy, the reasoning behind it, and the changes we recommend, and you approve each one.

Asset allocation and diversification do not ensure a profit or protect against loss in declining markets.

Frequently asked questions

  • No. Investments are one of five pillars. Every client’s plan also covers cash flow and retirement, tax strategies, estate, and insurance, and your portfolio is built to serve that plan instead of standing on its own.

  • We rebalance twice a year on a set schedule, and we review your portfolio whenever something changes in your life or your plan. In between, you can see your accounts anytime in Account View.
